Our
Vision is a world uplifted through love, mercy and ministry,
enlightened by spirit and united in service.
Our Mission is to create programs and service
projects
that mobilize and empower dynamic spiritual leaders and teachers.
We are committed to connecting children
to God through Love. Our youth comps will provide a fertile ground for
any child to have fun while exploring the infinite possibilities of
making a difference in the world.
Through educational activities in
a nature environment, with stories, exploration art, physical and spiritual
exercise, and the examples of who we are, we thrive and desire to plant
seeds of love within each child.
We want to hear each child's voice.
We want them to know how much they are needed in, not only making the
camp experience successful, but also to help make this world a better
place. Each person needs to know how much they are needed and how much
they are loved.
We have the opportunity to experience
many fun-filled and adventurous activities that are always centered
in spirit. To begin each day, the adults will gather to center themselves
in a sacred space. Then we invite the children to sit in stillness for
5 to 10 minutes for personal reflections. We then have 15 minutes of
yoga stretching before breakfast and after breakfast the activities
begin. Some examples of the activities include going on hikes in nature
with a naturalist educating us along the way, making drums and learning
rhythms, creating Mandalas which serve to be an expression of what one
stands for, storytelling, singing, dancing, working in and with the
nature around us, tie dying, playing games, swimming, and spiritual
scavenger hunts.
Each night we sit around the camp
fire, drumming to unite ourselves and creating a safe place for each
of us to share our ideas and concerns on an already determined topic.
Each night there is a different topic discussed such as:
"What do I stand for?"
"What is important to me?"
"How can I be of service?"
"What effects my attitude and creates my happiness?"
"What would I do if I ruled the world?"
"How am I a leader within my peer groups?"
"Who is God to me?"
Ultimately when we live the teachings,
we are in turn inspiring children to find their own ways to become positive
leaders, to be of service where there is a need, and to build a personal
relationship with a Loving God.
We choose not to preach but to love,
to inspire, to have fun, to work with and empower children to make a
difference in the world and to be part of something larger than themselves.
Not only is this a camp, but each
month those children who are involved with the yearly camp will have
opportunities to work within their community doing monthy service projects.
